Gregory C. Stockard Heritage Fund

September 21, 1948 – December 26, 2004
This fund was established in 2004 to honor a dedicated friend to Jefferson City and one devoted to the preservation of it's heritage. Gregory Stockard served as president of the Historic City of Jefferson from 1998 to 2003. Our membership and reputation grew under his leadership. He was well known and respected in Jefferson City for his congenial but persistent advocacy of our historic traditions. Jefferson City owes him a debt of gratitude for his efforts to increase public awareness of the benefits of historic preservation. The Historic Preservation Commission established the Greg Stockard Award in 2004, to be presented annually to individuals who have shown distinguished community service in preservation efforts.
Donations in his name continue to provide the foundation with funds for furthering our mission through special projects related to the preservation and education of our heritage. Our present focus is the renovation of the Grisham house at 1102 E. McCarty. Contributions to this fund may be made on our membership application and can be made with or without applying for membership.
