A new effort for HCJ beginning in 2008 is the Golden Hammer Award project.

Including both residential and commercial projects, we want to honor and call attention to efforts of renovation and/or restoration in our community.

Anyone anytime can nominate a home or building for this honor. The nominated projects need to involve homes or buildings that are at least 50 years old and located in Jefferson City. The works needs to have been done in the last 5 years.

Nominations for 2008 will be announced in May 2009. Yearly nominations must be received prior to Jan 1 of the year of announcement.

The letter should include:
 
  • address of the nominated building
  • a brief description of why the building is nominated
  • name of current owner, if known
  • name, address and telephone number of person making the nomination
  • if available, before and after pictures & information about previous ownership
