| The first Missouri State Capitol Building in Jefferson City was destroyed by fire in 1837. The second State Capitol was destroyed in 1911 by a fire caused by a lightening bolt. In a state of shock, Missouri salvaged what it could, and worked together to build a new Capitol. Local historian, Dr. Summers recaptures the drama of the events that followed that lightening bolt in 1911. | ||
